To become a member, we encourage you to attend one of our NEW MEMBER’S classes which explain the vision and values of Eliot and show you how to get involved. .
We are here to serve you and help build a foundation upon which you build your life. If there is any way we can be of assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to let us know!
Sometimes the word “membership” sounds institutional and is perceived as an obligation, not a joyful act of worship. Being a \ member is a voluntary way of saying, “I accept the vision of Eliot, love the people who go here, and want to be a partner in the risks and rewards of Eliot.”
We BELIEVE THERE ARE AT LEAST THREE REASONS FOR A FORMAL MEMBERSHIP WITH ELIOT:
We believe the concept of membership is biblical. While the term “member” is never used, the concept is implicit throughout the New Testament.
Formal membership is valuable to church leaders as they seek to fulfill their God-given task of shepherding. It is important to identify those who truly comprise the “flock” – the core who can be counted on to build and sustain the ministries of the church.
Experience shows that living life in partnership with others is the most healthy and enjoyable way to live a Christian life. Membership presents a challenge to “come down out of the stands” and publicly affirm a commitment to Christ’s church and to other folks who are committed to the church.
